Here it is, the U33Jc-A1!!!! Great name huh. But it IS a nice design, clad in bamboo. Certainly a first, at least as far as It'sWood can remember. Tech wise, well... I've never been that big on tech specs, but it doesn't have an optical drive, but maybe you don't need one anymore. I can go months without putting a disc in my machine... and what software doesn't come as download either. Available on Ol' Amazon

Offcut Wooden Stools

I love reclaimed wood, all the previous use and abuse sticks to it, it has a life all of its own. These barstools from Edwards Moore are just wonderful. Created for the State of Design festival 2010.

I like things that are more than one thing. Like a transformer. Or that toy from Big and Tom Hanks asks "What's so fun about playing with a building?" Precisely. What's so fun about a shelf that is just a shelf?

Anyway, this design from Fotis Evens is inspired by flea markets, where shoppers have to spend a little more time browsing and looking through the wares. I like it.

Wooden Bicycle Basket

I like bikes, as you will see in a previous post. I also like the idea of carrying things around on them, but don't fancy myself with a two wheel trailer behind me or a basket that looks like it should be full of pretty flowers and fresh baked organic bread. Although they both sound great.

Something with nice lines, functional but with good design. Like this. The Bent Wood Basket from designer Faris Elmasu. It's small enough that when it isn't being used it doesn't weigh you down, but can hold a ton of stuff strapped under those elastic bits. Time for a trip to the bakery via the flower market.

Wooden Letterpress

Oh I love these. I almost bought one when I was traveling but they weigh a TON. I'm not even sure what I would do with it, start printing newspapers maybe? If I could find a hook and wall strong enough to hang it I think I would just throw all the letters on the floor, pick them up in the random order they fell and put them in the case, then hang it on the wall.

Wooden Dolls House

Made from old rubberwood trees, these Dolls Houses are like miniature Scandinavian Modernists dream homes. I can just imagine 2 inch high black clothed architects running up and down the tiny stairs gasping and pointing. Love the colour scheme too.

Wooden Bicycle

You don't see much wood in transport today. Gone are the wood paneled American sedans, trains have replaced wooded panels with cheap plastic and most 'wooden' trim in luxury cars is politely termed 'wood look'.

But then a wooden bicycle comes along. Light, good looking and flexible. It's from German designer and manufacturer Waldmeister Bikes, which, in itself is a great name.

iPhone case

My iPhone is currently out of action :( which somehow makes me want accessories for it even more. Perhaps the natural healing properties of wood will bring it back to life.... perhaps not.

This iPhone case comes in Rosewood and Beech and is a great piece of product design. I think Rosewood would be my pick.

Wooden Radio

I still have a AM/FM radio. It's metal and plastic, a bit rusted from being taken to the beach and the huge battery inside looks like it will leak some sort of acid on me at any moment.

Perhaps it's time for one that's made of wood. It won't rust, it is powered by a AA battery probably won't burn me or my furniture.

This one from Magno will do just the trick, thanks. Plus you can just write on your favorite stations in pen.
